Biography

Most of Professor Bohannan's current scholarship is in intellectual property law, the First Amendment, and competition law. Her work was selected for the 2005 Stanford/Yale Junior Faculty Forum, and her article on Copyright Preemption of Contracts in the Maryland Law Review was selected by the University of California, Berkeley Center for Law and Technology for inclusion in its prestigious repository at http://escholarship.org/

She was the recipient of a Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation research grant (with Herbert Hovenkamp) to write a book about how intellectual property and competition law can be used more effectively to encourage innovation. The book Creation without Restraint: Promoting Liberty and Rivalry in Innovation was published by Oxford University Press in 2012.

Professor Bohannan has published major articles in several journals, including the Fordham Law Review, the NYU Law ReviewHastings Law JournalBoston College Law ReviewWashington University Law ReviewCardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, and the Maryland Law Review.
