Established in 2014, the Iowa Law Review Online (“ILR Online”) is the companion to the Iowa Law Review. The Iowa Law Review Online aims to enrich the Print Edition by furthering the dialogue surrounding Print Edition pieces and addressing Iowa-specific practice issues. ILR Online typically publishes four types of pieces: (1) direct responses to an article, essay, or note published in our Print Edition; (2) pieces that build upon an article, essay, or note published in our Print Edition; (3) timely or time-sensitive pieces related to current and/or recent legal developments; and (4) pieces addressing an Iowa-specific issue. Most ILR Online pieces fall within the range of 4,000 to 8,000 words. Please note: We will not consider pieces that are 15,000+ words (footnotes are included in this count).
ILR Online pieces are published on a rolling basis throughout the academic year. For information about submitting to ILR Online, please click here.
